Designing Your Web Site

Once you have established a purpose for your Web site, and completed the planning process, you are ready to decide on the look you wish your web site to have.

Here are several steps to make this process a little bit easier.....

Visit other web sites---look at a variety of sites, (even other non-medical sites) and browse for features and looks that are appealing to your target audience. Consider details such as backgrounds, colors, along with ease of use and degree of complexity.

Gather together your current marketing materials, in order to decide which you could use.

Make a brief outline of the content you wish to feature on your web site. You may decide to include a brief description of your practice, description of services, information regarding your specialty, and areas of treatment interest. Remember a web site can be more than a curriculum vitae online.

Decide on any photos, graphics, or logos you also wish to incorporate into your web site. Any regular photo or picture logo can be digitally scanned or created for your site.

Consider what components of your web site might need periodic updates. A good way to keep visitors interested in your site is to feature a "what's new" or "health news" category.

Decide on a method to gather feedback from visitors. You can allow them to simply respond to a e-mail address or complete a form which can then be followed-up on by one of your staff members.

Would you like your visitor to be able to visit other similar web sites (external Hyperlinks) which could compliment your site or provide additional information of interest?
